Mad War

This 24x36 professionally framed oil painting captures a quiet moment of respite during a patrol in Vietnam for a group of combat soldiers. The painting captures the timelessness of the moment as the soldiers take a break from the chaos and uncertainty of war. The painting's vivid colors and tetxture express the beauty and harshness of war in equal measure. The artist used a his own photo of his friend.  The colors of the background are used again for the troopers for the expressed purpose of illustrating how soldiers lost their individuality to the war.
